General Decha Hemkasri, President of Thai Cycling
Association (TCA), under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King, said that
it received good news that Jai, a Thai-Australian rider, has a chance to go to
the Olympic Games, Tokyo 2020 after Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI)
combined points in the qualification of Men’s Keirin. Jai is No.1 in reserve,
if the quota is available for just a seat, regardless of any reason, he will be eligible to go through the Olympic
Games immediately.

General Decha revealed that after the process of collecing
points in the qualification of two disciplines of Road Races and Track in the
32th Summer Olympic Games, Tokyo 2020 was completed in October 2019 for the
road discipline and for track discipline in March 2020. The results have shown
that Thai national team has already received a quota of the female road race
category from "Beaze" Lieutenant Jutatip Maneeraphan, who is
currently undergoing rehearsals to save her health from the covid-19 epidemic
that has had a severe impact on the Olympic Games, Tokyo 2020 has to be
postponed to next year.
General Decha said that the TCA received latest good news
from Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) that from the Olympic Games the
qualification system of Tokyo 2020 in the men’s Kirin, it appears that “TJ” Jai
Angsuthasawit, a Thai national cyclist, is No.1 in reserve which means that if
there is a quota available for any reason by June 30, 2020, the Keirin total
points champion of the UCI Track World Cup will be eligible to go through the
32nd Summer Olympic Games immediately. Now he himself still continues to practice to
maintain physical conditions while waiting for the situation of the COVID-19 unraveled. After that,
he will travel back to the World Cycling Center (WCC) in Switzerland along with
teammates, Warayut Kapunya and Chaturong Niwatti to continue training plans with an aim at the Olympic
Games 2024 in Paris, France.
