Thai Cyvling
Association continues to move forward along with the pandemic of the COVID-19
situation, even though it is unable to run the race, It will join hands with
the ICCE to develop personnel via a new online ‘New Normal’. The goal is to
develop the fundamentals of Thai riders to be in the same direction as the
superpowers of cycling sports around the world. In the meanwhike, it has been
supported by “Dr. Paisan” to have prepared a special guide to building muscles
for the cycling sport as to be distributed to coaches and other educational
institutions throughout the country with the budget of the Association itself.
“Seth. Muek” General
Deja Hemkasri, President of Thai Cycling Association (TCA) under the Royal
Patronage of His Majety the King,
reveals that, as the Association proceeded to solve the problem of
training of Thai riders during the epidemic of the COVID-19 by organizing the
project “Home Cycling, Combating the COVID-19” together with the Office of the
Thai Health Promotion Foundation (THPF), it will include practices using
information technology combined with high-tech training equipment that can send
data via the internet. In addition, the Association also collaborated with the
Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health to participate in the project
"Challenging Step", Season 2, which is a project that the government
encourages people to have exercise activities that are consistent with their
way of life. It's easy, fun, and challenging by using a new technology.

However, General
Decha says that we are still unable to assess the situation optimally, even
though the epidemic situation in Thailand has decreased dramatically and it
seems to be controlled. But no one can say whether the second wave of the
pandemic of the OVID-19 will be escalating or not. Therefore, the Association has proceeded to
develop to the extent that can be done, especially the development of personnel
in the event that it is not yet able to organize various competitions.
The President of the
Association goes on to say that due to the global cycling competition to be
disrupted since March, the Association took advantage of the ‘Work From Home’
period and stopped the race activities of the Association to create a muscle
building guide, especially for the cycling sports called “The Ultimate Guide to
Weight Traning for Cytcling”. This is with a courtesy from Dr. Paisan
Chantharapitak, the senior director for special events of General Bangkok
Hospital who was an expert in sports science and who has given advice and
brought English documents for us. The
Association, therefore, proceeded with translating into Thai and publishing
with complete pictures of approximately 1,000 copies by using the Association's
own budget since translation, composition and the publication of the book until
it is ready to be delivered to the members, clubs and cycling trainers as well
as educational institutions at both the secondary and higher educations levels
in order to be used in real work to strengthen the specific muscles that are
important for cycling sports.

“Apart from the
fitness guide for cycling sports, the Association is currently in coordination
with the “International Council for Coaching Excellence (ICCE)” through Ms.
Belinda Taling, a former of perfomance
and education manager of the World Cycling Centre (WCC) to arrange a course for
Thai trainees in particular. Ms. Belinda
is pleased to write a training program for a coaching level to the creation of
specialized experts to train cycling levels at each level which will develop
the fundamentals of Thai cycling sport to the same direction as the superpower
of the cycling sports around the world in the future where Thai coaches at the
beginning level do not need to struggle to study abroad,” says General Decha.
General Decha adds
that during the period of the pandemic of the COVID-19, the Association will
allow all Thai high-level coaches to study an online with Ms. Belinda Tarling
in a new way of life ‘New Normal’. When
the epidemic of the Covid-19 is still going on,
The Association will assign these high-level coaches who have completed
an online learning to train nationwide, and will be organized as an annual
program of Thai Cycling Association. For the development program of Thai
coaches, it can be said that the project is expected to start in July 2020,
however, if all discussion and coordination are completed quickly and the
situation of the COVID-19 has begun to normality, the first course may be
opened in June 2020.
